Kimble Work for GFL Benefit
By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 4/1/2004
Artist Warren Kimble created "Renewal of Spring," an oil painting on a Victorian-era headboard, to raise funds for AIDS research at Gift for Life's 12th annual gala and live auction, May 17. The 45"x21" artwork, which is valued at more than $20,000, will go to the highest bidder during the event. In addition, Gift for Life will present its Award for Outstanding Industry Achievement to Kimble at the gala, as well as the Chuck Yancy Lifetime Achievement Award to Norman Sadek of Charles Sadek Import Co. Larry Rotondi of Gifts & Decorative Accessories, Daniel Von Rabenau of Giftware News, and Mike Dean of Western Exhibitors will each receive a Bert Tonkin Gift of Giving Award. The festivities take place from 6–10 p.m. at New York's Copacabana club and include cocktails, a buffet dinner, music and dancing, and a silent auction. Tickets are $100. Fundraising proceeds go to the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR). Silent bids for "Renewal of Spring" will be accepted from those who can't attend the event.
