Goebel Fights Cerebral Palsy
-- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 11/1/2000
Pennington, NJ-based Goebel North America auctioned an original piece of M.I. Hummel artwork on IQVC, the Internet arm of the home shopping cable channel. The artwork, one of the pieces that inspired the collectible figurines, brought $13,500. Goebel donated the proceeds of the auction to the United Cerebral Palsy Association (UCP). This is the second time Goebel auctioned a piece of Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel's artwork to benefit the organization. The first auction, held last October, was the first time her original art was offered for sale to the public, and raised $37,500 for the UCP of Nassau.
