-- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 11/1/2000
Crystal manufacturer Swarovski, Cranston, RI, reinforced its commitment to the National Dance Institute's (NDI) educational programs for children with a $25,000 donation to help fund lessons for public school children. The donation coincides with the final installment of Swarovski's "Celebrate the Spirit" pin series. Swarovski collaborated with the NDI to create jewelry that evokes themes of consciousness, both through its design and the charitable partnerships it represents. The Joy pin retails for $125 and is available only until December 31. For more information call (800) 426-3088.
Swarovski also sponsored a most creative costume contest as part of NDI's annual gala. The award went to Anthony Grande of Springfield Gardens, NY. Swarovski gave temporary tattoos and decorative stones to young dancers to create a new look for their costumes.
