Shop.org, NRF Enter Alliance

Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 11/1/2000

Washington, DC -Shop.org, a trade association focusing on Internet retailing and direct-to-consumer marketing technologies, has entered into a strategic alliance with the National Retail Federation (NRF) trade association. The alliance connects Shop.org's knowledge of online retail with the NRF membership, which comprises all retail formats and channels of distribution, including department, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet, and independent stores. This opens the door for members of both organizations to have access to a wide range of aggregated resources, including conferences, industry research and publications, member-only forums, networking, government relations, industry representation, and special business discounts. Under the terms of the agreement, Shop.org will operate as a separate division of the NRF, assuming responsibility for all online retailing matters while continuing to develop its own programs to serve the electronic retailing community. Shop.org will retain its company name, board of directors, staff, and present location.
