The Boyds Collection Ltd., Gettysburg, PA, sold out of Charity Angelhug and Everychild.Cherish the Children, the figurine it produced to aid the Starlight Children's Fdn., in just eight weeks. Boyd's became a corporate partner with Starlight in June, and to date has raised more than $225,000 for the foundation, which works to brighten the lives of seriously ill children. Boyds will continue to create a resin Bearstone figurine for Starlight each fall, and a plush bear each spring. One hundred percent of the profits go to the foundation, which will use them to purchase Starlight Fun Centers, mobile entertainment units consisting of a TV, VCR, and Nintendo 64 game system that can be wheeled to a child's bedside. Boyds will also sponsor a Starlight Room fantasy playroom in a hospital near Boyd's corporate headquarters.
