GoCollect Buys ByWeb

GoCollect.com of Chicago, a business-to-consumer collectibles Web site, acquired ByWeb Inc., New York, a business-to-business application service provider that rents online software to suppliers, retailers, and sales agents. ByWeb helps manufacturers and suppliers of gifts, collectibles, home decor products, and furnishings create online wholesale catalogs for their retailer clients. The catalogs can now be placed on GoCollect.com to offer suppliers access to online consumer sales. Sales reps will be able to use the ByWeb application to place orders and communicate directly with suppliers. Shonnie Bilin, GoCollect's CEO, said, in a statement: "With the acquisition of ByWeb, one company can service the entire supply chain with increased value for our clients." ByWeb founder and president Lynn Aylsworth said, in a statement, "ByWeb is delighted to join GoCollect.com. Their clear understanding of the gifts and collectibles market has resulted in a superior business strategy." In other news, GoCollect.com announced that it purchased SimplyCollectible.com, including its trademark, trade name, URLs, and customer list.
