Mason Box Garners NPA Awards

North Attleboro, MA-The 50th annual gold award for general superiority was given in the Collector's Item category for a decorative, protective Christmas bell ornament box designed and built by the Mason Box Co. for Reed & Barton of Taunton, MA. The award, sponsored by the National Paperbox Association, was presented at the Third International Paperbox Congress held in Banff, AB, Canada. The winning entry was a lift-off cover box with an oval PVC window. A bell ornament is held in the center of the oval window by a vacuum-formed insert. Mason Box, in conjunction with Harbor Sweets of Salem, MA, also earned two excellence awards for candy packaging in the Confections and Superiority of Construction categories. The winning entry featured a gold, foil-wrapped, six-point, star-shaped box filled with an assortment of confections. Barbara Machado, director of design for Mason Box, designed both winning entries. Mason Box has manufactured stock and custom packaging since 1891.
