Housewares Show Announces New Dates Beginning 2006
Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 12/1/2000
The NHMA announced that beginning in 2006 the International Housewares Show will move from its traditional January schedule to March 12-15 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Thereafter, the annual show will take place in March. NHMA chairman Vincent Naccarato said in a statement, "The realities of today's business environment indicate that a trade show later in the first quarter would better benefit the housewares industry." Naccarato also cited several issues supporting the move from January to March, such as the close of the fiscal year in January, better timing for product introductions, better fit in the international trade show calendar, and elimination of a scheduling conflict with the Consumer Electronics Show. According to the NHMA, retailers and exhibitors have reacted positively to the proposed new dates. For more information, call (847) 292-4200.
