New York — The music of Ray Charles performed by the Ray of Light band helped set the mood at New York's Copacabana club on May 19, as Gift for Life celebrated it's 13th anniversary by raising nearly $250,000 to help in the fight against AIDS. The event honored four industry leaders: designer Raymond Waites, Joan Ulrich of Merchandise Mart Properties Inc., and Gerry Seibel of the L.A. Mart. Gift and home decor vendor DEMDACO was honored for outstanding industry achievement. Silent and live auctions held during the event raised $50,000, which along with matching gifts from honoree DEMDACO and others brought the total to more than $120,000.
