Northeast Market Center Opens in a Swirl of Snow
By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 6/1/2005
On January 22, 2005, not even a blizzard could dampen the spirits of buyers, manufacturers, and distinguished guests attending the grand opening of the new Northeast Market Center in Billerica, Massachusetts. With snow swirling outside, the warmth of good cheer and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting in the South Lobby marked the inauguration of the new facility after two years of planning and production.
The new Center is a 140,000 square foot state-of-the-art building housing showroom suites with over 1,700 gift and decorative accent lines. The new corridor layout offers a centralized, figure-eight flow with escalators and elevators designed to make buying more efficient. There is also a full-service restaurant on site.
The Billerica marketplace, which is governed by the Gift & Decorative Accessories Center Association, replaces The Center at Bedford, Massachusetts.
