GLM, Reed Exhibitions to Launch Interiors Fair

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 6/1/2005

The furnishings market is set to expand with the launch of Interiors International New York (IINY), a trade fair showcasing fine furnishings and interior design, in May 2006. Produced by George Little Management (GLM) and Reed Exhibitions, IINY will present approximately 300 exhibitors in 50,000 square feet of exhibit space. Featured products will include fine furniture, home decor, tableware, fabrics, wall coverings, accessories, and kitchen and bath items. The show will focus on the needs of North America interior designers, retailers, wholesalers, and home furnishings buyers. “IINY offers attendees access to a broader selection of high-end resources spanning the traditional to contemporary design spectrum,” said Phil Robinson, s.v.p. of GLM. Added Greg Topalian, v.p. of Reed Exhibitions, “In one visit to New York, attendees will be able to source products, ideas, and inspiration for all segments of their customer base.” IINY will be held May 20–23, 2006, at New York's Passenger Ship Terminal, running concurrently with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair as part of New York Design Week.

  • Doubletake- Stationery: Eco Totes
A subset of the eco message is the call to arms for consumers to use their own bags when shopping. Sturdy reusable shopping totes were much in evidence as an eco-fashion statement.
  • Doubletake-Stationery: Birds
Gifts & Decorative Accessories previously noted the widespread presence of peacocks & peacock-related motifs on tabletop, home décor & other gift items. In stationery, it’s not just peacocks, but birds of all feathers.
