Eye on Energy
Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 2/1/2001
With energy costs on the rise, many manufacturers are concerned about their own energy usage and the financial impact it might have on their bottom line. According to a survey by the Manufacturing Institute of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), more than 85 percent of manufacturers have implemented energy efficiency measures in the last five years.
To address this issue, NAM published a booklet that offers manufacturers "creative, real world strategies" for reducing their own energy consumption without sacrificing productivity. Titled the "Energy Efficiency Toolkit for Manufacturers: Eight Proven Ways To Reduce Your Costs," the booklet identifies solutions for companies of all sizes. It includes case studies of manufacturers who have managed to successfully curb their energy usage. The results of the survey mentioned above are also part of the free offering. To obtain the booklet, visit www.nam.org or call NAM at (202) 637-3000.
