New York — The board of directors of the Toy Industry Association (TIA) voted to keep the American International Toy Fair in New York City at the Javits Convention Center for 2007, with the intention of remaining in New York for the foreseeable future. The plan is contingent on the success of TIA relocating tenants of the International Toy Center in New York (which has been sold to a real estate development firm) and obtaining continuing cooperation of local officials and Javits personnel. “The board was unanimous in its decision to keep New York City as the host of the Toy Fair and continue its 102-year tradition,” said TIA chairman Arnie Rubin. The board also decided to keep New York as the host of the American International Fall Toy Show through 2006, but will explore alternate venues for future shows.
