MMPI Buys Boston Design Center

Chicago — The parent company of Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. (MMPI), Vornado Realty Trust, agreed to buy the Boston Design Center from the Davis Companies. The 550,000-square-foot Design Center, located on Boston's waterfront, features 84 home furnishings showrooms. The Center adds to the stable of MMPI home and commercial furnishings showroom buildings that includes the Chicago Merchandise Mart, The Architects & Designers Building (New York), The Washington Design Center, and the L.A. Mart. “The Boston Design Center is the region's leader for the finest products and services available in design today, and we are happy to announce its addition to the MMPI family,” said MMPI president Chris Kennedy.
