Maria Weiskott Named G&DA Editor-in-Chief

Lawrence Oliver, vice president/group publisher of the New York Retail Group at Reed Business Information, named Maria Weiskott editor-in-chief of Gifts & Decorative Accessories magazine, replacing Quinn Halford, who is retiring. Weiskott most recently was editor-in-chief of Playthings magazine, a Reed publication covering the toy industry. She will retain responsibilities for Playthings, becoming editorial director of that magazine. A graduate of Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Weiskott has more than 30 years' experience in publishing. She is a member of the editorial advisory board of Reed Business Information, serves on the Toy Industry Association's Toy Fair advisory committee, and is a member of the association's T.O.T.Y. (Toy of the Year) Awards task force. Weiskott assumes her new duties beginning with the January issue of G&DA.
