What Were They Thinking?

What every Roaring '20s homemaker probably didn't want: an armadillo basket. Nevertheless, some vendors gave the concept a try. Several ads read: "From South America comes the little-known and hitherto little used armadillo, a reptile which goes about clad in his own armor, not alive, to be sure, but with his armament shaped and formed into a basket which may be utilized for a variety of purposes: flowers, sewing, etc. The basket is satin-lined and very beautiful to look upon; the tail of the beast forms the handle. It is a handsome and altogether out-of-the-ordinary gift."
Too out of the ordinary if you ask us!
