Yankee Joins 'Go Red' Campaign

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 2/1/2007 7:48:00 AM

South Deerfield, MA — The Yankee Candle Company will donate $1 for each Go Red Yankee Candle purchased during the month of February, thanks to the second annual "Light a Candle for Your Heart" program. The event supports the American Heart Association's national Go Red for Women movement, and includes in-store, Web and corporate activities.

The limited-edition Red Dress 14½-oz. candle includes a special label highlighting the American Heart Association's Go Red movement. Yankee will also donate $1 for purchases of other select red candles during February, including scents such as Macintosh, Macintosh & Peach, Juicy Watermelon, Sweet Strawberry, Cranberry Chutney and Mandarin Cranberry. Yankee Candle customers will receive a special AHA Red Dress Gift Tag for additional donations that they make.

Rick Ruffolo, senior vice president of brand, marketing, and innovation for Yankee Candle, said, "We have expanded our successful 2006 program in 2007 with the goal of raising over $100,000 across the two years."
