Pacific Rim Enters Receivership

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 2/15/2007 11:03:00 AM

Seattle — Home accent and gift company Pacific Rim Import Corp. has gone into receivership under order of the Washington Superior Court.

In a letter dated February 13, John Davidson, acting for the receiver, Inverness Group LLC, informed media resources and publications of the action and the cancelling of advertising contracts. The letter stated Inverness would provide notice on filing creditor claims “within the next several weeks.”

According to the letter, efforts are being made to sell the 30-year-old company and/or its assets. The company continues to ship product against customer orders, and will be in contact with all customers regarding additional sales opportunities.

Pacific Rim operates showrooms in most gift markets in the United States, including Atlanta, High Point, Dallas, Chicago, Las Vegas, Seattle and New York. Davidson did not confirm what actions are being taken concerning the various showrooms, nor did he comment on orders placed by retailers. Davidson indicated that additional information will be available to interested parties in the weeks ahead.
