Sustainable Furniture Incorporates

Chapel Hill, NC — The Sustainable Furniture Council legally incorporated in the state of Delaware. The Council is a non-profit industry association which promotes sustainable manufacturing in the home furnishings industry, and raises awareness about environmentally-friendly choices among consumers and buyers.
At the upcoming High Point furniture market, the Council will staff a booth in the GREENStyle Pavilion at the Suites at Market Square with membership and certification information. A GREENStyle Market map will also be available, marking member locations throughout the show. Member showrooms will also feature GREENStyle signs. The Council is composed of more than 40 representatives of manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and non-profit organizations, who plan to create standards outlining how businesses should source raw materials and use sustainable products. Assisting in these efforts is The Rainforest Alliance, which certifies forestlands under thestandards of the Forest Stewardship Council.
