Collegiate Section to Double in June

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 3/26/2007 2:23:00 PM

Dallas — For the June 2007 International Gift & Home Accessories Market, the Collegiate section of the
F!NDS Temp Show will double in size and move to a prominent atrium location on the 12th floor of the Dallas Market Center’s World Trade Center. In addition to the move to a more prominent location, the CollegiateF!NDS section will be specially merchandised, so that it has its own distinctive look. Market signage and directory advertising will target gift and collegiate buyers when they arrive at market, and daily promotions in the section will add to its distinction. The F!NDS Temp Show is scheduled for June 22–25.

“We have seen strong growth in this category, and plan to give it high profile exposure at June market,” said Jim Lugannani, Vice President of Leasing for the F!NDS Temp Show. “We’re responding to retailer demand for a broad assortment of collegiate gift and apparel merchandise and plan to make this a fun, high-energy destination during June market.”

CollegiateF!NDS launched in June 2006 in cooperation with Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC). CLC represents many colleges, universities, bowl games, etc. that work together to protect their trademarks and brand value by providing consumers with quality licensed collegiate merchandise and serves as a licensing agent. New products, as well as some collegiate resources currently showing in rep showrooms, will be consolidated in CollegiateF!NDS for buyer convenience.

Other special market activities will include the culmination of the Dallas Market Center’s year-long 50th Anniversary celebration with an all-market party on Friday, June 22 from 6–8 p.m. The June Super Market features multiple markets held simultaneously so that buyers may select from the widest range of product categories. It will run June 20–26 at the Dallas Market Center. Hotel and travel information is available online or by calling 1-800-DAL-MKTS
