Annalee Feels Impact of Nor'easter

Meredith, NH — The aftermath of this week's fierce nor'easter has towns and businesses along the East Coast mopping up and calculating losses. Among them, unfortunately, is Annalee Mobilitee Dolls.
No stranger to adversity — in fact, the company was born during the Great Depression — the doll company that successfully endured the downturn of the collectibles niche quickly pulled together to salvage merchandise in its shipping facility.
"It is wonderful to see the teamwork of the Annalee employees to put down whatever they were doing to come help," Bob Watson Jr., sales director, told Gifts & Dec.
Annalee's shipping facility was flooded with several inches of water during the storm. Rapidly melting snows added to the growing flooding situation, causing a very large collection of water several feet high to accumulate in back of the building.
Water began to seep in, quickly "soaking boxes full of Annalee treasures," Watson said.
The quick-to-action Annalee employees banded together and worked hard to move boxes out of immediate danger. Empty boxes were used as a barricade for the rushing water.
Company vice president, Bob Watson Sr. and Joe Mcphail, IT director, (both pictured above, with Mcphailon on the left and Watson Sr. on the right) were credited with devising a way to reroute the water out and away from the building.
Today, the company is still assessing the damage, a spokesman said, adding that the situation could have been much worse if not for the quick action of company employees.
