Judges tapped for 19th Annual ARTS Awards

Dallas -- A judging panel has been named to determine winners in the 19th Annual ARTS Awards. A joint effort of the Dallas Market Center and the Accessories Resource Team, winners will be revealed at a gala, Jan. 19, 2008, during the Dallas International Gift and Home Accessories Market.

The judging panel includes Janace Clarke, an associate professor of fashion merchandising at Texas Christian University and chair of the Department of Design, Merchandising and Textiles at TCU; Kelly Ryan Kegans, senior decorating editor for Better Homes & Gardens magazine; Kristin Langerak DeMesse, business development manager, licensed products for Winterthur Museum; Cheryl A. Van Duyne, ASID interior designer, and an independent, award-winning designer with an extensive portfolio of residential work in Texas and several other states and Edward Walker, who has carved a role for himself on the Trading Spaces television program on HGTV.

The ARTS Awards nomination process began in March and will end during the Dallas June Super Market. Finalists are nominated in 25 categories including retailer, manufacturer and sales representative.

Industry professionals and retailers are invited to nominate decorative accessory manufacturers, product designers and sales representatives. Manufacturers, sales representatives and industry professionals are invited to nominate retailers. Neither membership in ART nor representation at DMC is necessary.

Finalists will be announced at the end of August.
