International Greetings Acquires Glitterwrap

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 9/18/2007 9:00:00 AM

Atlanta — International Greetings PLC, through its subsidiary International Greetings USA, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of paper greetings and stationery products, acquired Rockaway, NJ-based Glitterwrap Inc., a domestic manufacturer of high design gift bags, roll wrap and party products.

“We have admired the capabilities of Glitterwrap for some time," said Chris Tapp, chief operating officer of International Greetings USA. “We are naturally thrilled to welcome the business into the larger IG group. This acquisition will allow us to provide an unparalleled product range with brands that include The Gift Wrap Company, Stephen Lawrence, Pepperpot, Design Focus by Glitterwrap and Festive by Glitterwrap.”

Nick Fisher, CEO International Greetings said, “The Glitterwrap acquisition provides a major boost to our U.S. Division and we are very excited to add the Party Products category to our portfolio.”

Al Scott, Joint CEO with Melinda Katzman of Glitterwrap Inc., commented, “We are both delighted to have joined the Board of IG USA, and are excited by the future prospects of the enlarged business, particularly for the Party Products Division, which is a strategic area of growth for us.”

International Greetings (with American sales, marketing and design offices in Atlanta, and manufacturing and distribution facilities in Midway, GA) has global revenues in excess of $400 million annually, and is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange.
