Question: What are the merriest times of year for retailers to send emails? Answer: the Christmas season and … tax day? According to the tracking on RetailEmail.Blogspot, more than 53 percent of retailers sent email on December 26, 2006. December 11, 15 and 18 were not far behind. However, Tax Day, April 27, took second in the email race, over the Monday after Thanksgiving and the first week in December.
Tax Day may not have a positive reputation, but according to MediaPost Publications, most people tend to wait until the last second to file — so Tax Day is when those refunds start to burn a hole in their pockets.
