In MemoriamPeer Baekgaard, founder and chairman of Baekgaard Ltd., passed away on July 21 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Baekgaard.
I just lost another friend today. Peer Baekgaard was a true character in a business filled with bigger-than-life personalities that helped build this business. I miss him. I miss the endless shows we all shared together with the likes of Chiara, Rotundi, Figi, Ricciardi, Colapinto, Lammel, Brownstone, Nilan, Lang, Cady, Berrie, Grossbart, DiMont, Norton, Tonkin, Dean, Russo, Fulgham and Rooney (you too Peter), just to name a few.
As we gathered six times a year to laugh and solve the world's problems, Peer would hold court with his pipe, his lost dog Lucky, his baby picture, and his business card that simply read “God.”
I was blessed to have known Peer, a fellow Dane, a man's man, who I will always remember with a smile. God bless you Barbara.
