Stepping Up

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 10/11/2007 9:15:00 AM

White Plains, NY — There will be some additions to the Global Home Textiles and Global Home Decor shows in 2008. Luxe Living, a new section of high end product from around the world, will launch at the two shows, which run May 6–8, 2008 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas.

In order to draw traffic throughout the entire hall, a Main Aisle will be added joining the Global Home Textiles and Global Home Decor shows. The aisle will lead to a Buyer’s Lounge. “Hop on, hop off” transportation will be provided, as well as other amenities for show participants including a new Business HUB that will have internet connection and computer kiosks.

The two shows will be collocated with the Gourmet Housewares Show, produced by George Little Management and held at the Sands Expo, and the National Hardware Show, Lawn and Garden World and the Homewares Show produced by Reed Exhibitions (a sister company of Reed Business Information, parent company of Gifts & Decorative Accessories) and held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Shuttle service will be provided between the two locations.

  • Doubletake- Stationery: Going for the Green
The Green message was delivered loud and clear across all product categories. The stationery industry is really embracing the concept and helping to move it forward. And the best thing about the new “green”? It doesn’t look it!
  • Doubletake- Stationery: Eco Totes
A subset of the eco message is the call to arms for consumers to use their own bags when shopping. Sturdy reusable shopping totes were much in evidence as an eco-fashion statement.
  • Doubletake-Stationery: Birds
Gifts & Decorative Accessories previously noted the widespread presence of peacocks & peacock-related motifs on tabletop, home décor & other gift items. In stationery, it’s not just peacocks, but birds of all feathers.
