San Diego — Designer Cynthia Webb, best known for her ornate lighting and jewelry, is donating 100 percent of her Quiet Time treescape ornament to help rebuild Camp Stevens, a conference and retreat center in Julian, CA, that was damaged in a fire September 15.
“I designed the piece to evoke a feeling of peacefulness, of serenity. Camp Stevens has been that place for my whole family to feel renewed, to take a break from our busy lives. When I heard about the fire, we wanted to do what we could to help with its restoration and this piece seemed like the natural choice for our efforts,” said Webb.
The pewter ornament, first introduced in 2000, is offered in two sizes: a 2”x5½” wall ornament and in a 7”x8” museum frame. This is just another of Webb’s charitable efforts. Part of the sale of each piece in the new Home series of tabletop cottages will go to organizations fighting homelessness, and other designs also support non-profit organizations such as seniors in need, child abuse victims, breast cancer awareness and children with autism.
