A road trip leads to an unexpected display treasure

On a recent drive from Bend, OR, to Portland, my scenic expectations were fulfilled by beautiful views of snow-capped mountains and glittering lakes. But when I walked into a drug store/gift shop in the small but charming town of Sisters, I was treated to a different kind of scenery. My jaw dropped as I looked around the huge gift area. Lucky for me, they were happy to be recognized for their hard work; I've seen a lot of gift shops, and I don't pull out my camera for just any display. But I felt a surge of excitement when I walked around Sisters Drug & Gift Shop.
Displays at Sisters aren't done by one person alone; most of the staff enjoys doing creative merchandising. In fact, they have a friendly, competitive atmosphere about which displays get the most attention and the most sales. For my part, I was thrilled to see so many great examples of how to merchandise and display kitchenware, gift items, accessories, tiny bears — you name it, they have it!
