Boston Gift Show: Last Call for Entries

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 12/20/2007 5:45:00 AM

White Plains, NY — The Boston Gift Show is making a last call for nominations for the 3rd annual Pride of New England Awards, a coveted honor recognizing New England retailers for outstanding customer service, creative merchandising and community involvement.

These nominations are open to the trade only. Show participants are invited to submit a nomination for this recognition, which has become a coveted honor for New England gift retailers. Nominees must be retail establishments that have been in business for three or more years. Nominations must be received by January 4, 2008, and can be submitted online.

Finalists will be announced in February 2008, with winners revealed during a Pride of New England Awards ceremony during the April 5-8, 2008, market at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Winners will be selected by a panel of industry veterans, including Caroline Kennedy, executive editor, Gifts & Decorative Accessories.

  • Doubletake- Stationery: Eco Totes
A subset of the eco message is the call to arms for consumers to use their own bags when shopping. Sturdy reusable shopping totes were much in evidence as an eco-fashion statement.
  • Doubletake-Stationery: Birds
Gifts & Decorative Accessories previously noted the widespread presence of peacocks & peacock-related motifs on tabletop, home décor & other gift items. In stationery, it’s not just peacocks, but birds of all feathers.
