Ryan ‘Furnishes’ Help1Up

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 1/9/2008 12:39:00 PM

Hollywood, FL — Ryan Expositions, producer of regional furniture, art and decor markets, endorsed Help1Up, provider of furniture to the needy, as its charity of choice. Facilitated by the nonprofit National Furniture Bank Association (NFBA), Help1Up collects furniture from industry sources and the public, and gives it directly to families in need. NFBA furniture banks serve over 125,000 families in America by providing more than one million home furnishings items.

“Our philosophy at Ryan is to produce outstanding events, and at the same time be good corporate citizens,” said Roy Basukian, president of Ryan Expositions. “It was an easy decision to put our support behind [the NFBA’s] efforts. Their track record and credentials are impeccable.”

Further measures from Ryan will include donating 5 percent of net proceeds from exhibitors that come aboard in a show of support for Help1Up, advertisement in Ryan publications and brochures, free exhibit space and speaking engagements.

“The support of Ryan Expositions is an incredible development for Help1Up,” said Don Lawrence, executive director of NFBA. “Their willingness to give back to less fortunate children and families is an example we hope others will follow.”
