C.S. Wo & Sons Named to ARTS Hall of Fame

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 2/18/2008 6:49:00 PM

Dallas – Home furnishings company C.S. Wo & Sons is the newest member of the Accessories Resource Team's (ART) Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame, conceived by ART and the Dallas Market Center in 2003, includes companies that have won five or more awards within a specific category at the ARTS Awards. C.S. Wo & Sons celebrates its place as the ARTS Hall of Fame’s most recent inductee and has been recognized for excellence in home furnishings, winning ARTS Awards throughout the years. Once a company is inducted into the Hall of Fame it is not eligible to compete in the ARTS Awards for the following three years in the category it was inducted, but can participate in other categories.

“On behalf of ART and the Dallas Market Center I am excited to honor C.S. Wo & Sons for their contributions to the home furnishings industry over the years,” said Sharon Davis, executive director, ART. “As our eighth inductee into the ARTS Hall of Fame – C.S. Wo & Sons remains committed to delivering quality furniture that blends style with everyday comfort.”

C.S. Wo & Sons is a family owned company that began as a small general store in Honolulu nearly a century ago. Since then it has matured into a thriving and award winning home furnishings center. It now joins a select team on the roster of Hall of Fame members including Distinctive Designs International Inc., Fine Art Lamps, Montaage, Natural Decorations Inc., Palecek, Robb & Stucky, and Schonbeck Worldwide Lighting.

The ARTS Awards, held each year during the Dallas Market Center’s January Total Home & Gift Market, is an awards program for the decorative accessories industry that recognizes excellent retailers, manufacturers, sales representatives and designers from across the United States.

The Green message was delivered loud and clear across all product categories. The stationery industry is really embracing the concept and helping to move it forward. And the best thing about the new “green”? It doesn’t look it!
  • Doubletake- Stationery: Eco Totes
A subset of the eco message is the call to arms for consumers to use their own bags when shopping. Sturdy reusable shopping totes were much in evidence as an eco-fashion statement.
  • Doubletake-Stationery: Birds
Gifts & Decorative Accessories previously noted the widespread presence of peacocks & peacock-related motifs on tabletop, home décor & other gift items. In stationery, it’s not just peacocks, but birds of all feathers.
