Girls Inc. Honors High Intencity Prez

New York — Girls Incorporated, a nonprofit research and advocacy group that seeks to empower girls, will honor Renee Levy at the annual Girls Inc. New York Celebration Luncheon. Levy is president and founder of High IntenCity Corp., which manufactures girls’ accessories.The gathering, held at the New York Hilton on March 13th, brings together more than 1,000 business and community leaders to recognize women and men who, by work and example, create a better future for girls.

Levy, who started designing jewelry and hair accessories as an elementary school student; founded her own company in high school and forged relationships with high-end accounts such as Bloomingdale’s. Today, High IntenCity develops both company branded lines and licensed products through partnerships with Disney, Sanrio, Chorion, and Nickelodeon. In 2007 High IntenCity teamed up with Girls Inc. to create the i CARE for Girls Inc. jewelry line, which includes Fuschia Heart, pictured here. High IntenCity donates 10 percent of the proceeds from i CARE sales to Girls Inc.
“Since childhood, Renee Levy has embodied hard work, dedication, and true entrepreneurial spirit,” said Girls Inc. president and CEO, Joyce Roché. “Girls Inc. is thrilled to honor her for her exceptional passion and drive.”
Fellow honorees include Aine Brazil, managing principal of Thornton Tomasetti Inc.; Joyce Chang, managing director, global head of emerging markets strategy and emerging markets Americas client business, JPMorgan Securities Inc. and Jean Otte, founder and CEO, WOMEN Unlimited Inc. Jeffrey R. Immelt, chairman and CEO, GE, will accept the Corporate Vision Award.
