Twister Spares AmericasMart

Atlanta — Despite being just a few blocks from its path, AmericasMart-Atlanta escaped severe damage from the tornado that ripped through downtown Atlanta over the weekend, leaving wreckage in its path. 


The permanent showroom buildings sustained neither serious property damage nor injuries to personnel or visiting shoppers.


 The market center did suffer minor damage, such as a few blown windows, according to company spokesperson Keri Arroll. “Other buildings and structures just feet away sustained a lot more damage than we did,” said Arroll. “We have a lot to be thankful for," she added.
