Waxcessories Recalls Simmer Pots

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 4/25/2008 11:35:00 AM

Washington, DC — Retailers who have sold Electric Simmer Pots by Waxcessories, Dracut, MA, will want to be ready for customer queries about the recently recalled product. The pots, which were made in China, were sold at gift and novelty shops nationwide from April 2002 through April 2008, before being recalled due to a risk of fire or electric shock. The voluntary recall of 830,000 units is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. There have been 161 reports of discolored cords, loose wires, and wires separating from the pot; however, no injuries have been reported.

Retailers can tell customers they can obtain information at the Waxcesseries website, www.waxcessories.com, or hotline, (800) 899-5884, for instructions on how to return their products for a free replacement.
