Summer Market, San Francisco Style
White Plains, NY — The San Francisco International Gift Fair will present a distinctively San Francisco flavor at this summer’s market, set for July 26-29, at the Moscone Center. The fair will offer a concentration of product categories that mark the city and region's distinctive eco-conscious, wine-savvy, museum-rich and design-driven culture. In line with retail demand, green products, wine accessories, museum gifts and design-forward resources will be given prominence at the fair, in addition to the comprehensive range of other offerings presented by the 1,200 exhibiting companies. Each of the special categories will be spotlighted in individual displays; and there will be related programming and complimentary resource lists for focused buyers. Additionally, the Gift Fair also will produce for the first time a display of products being introduced by companies new to the fair.
"San Francisco's dynamic personality and trend-setting culture infuses the Gift Fair with energy, newness and a vibrant edge that keeps us ahead of the curve and on top of retail and product directions," said show manager, Aubin Wilson of George Little Management (GLM). “San Francisco is on the cusp of very real, tangible trends and that is directly reflected at this market.”
For a little San Francisco-style fun, the Gift Fair will host an “Only in San Francisco” Saturday night at the ballpark to see the San Francisco Giants play the Arizona Diamondbacks. The AT&T Park is situated on the Bay with Pacific Ocean views. Tickets, $35, will include transportation, seats, food/merchandise vouchers and a raffle for Giants’ gear.
On Tuesday evening of the Fair, there will be a Gift Fair-sponsored dinner at Jack Falstaff, located in San Francisco’s trendy SOMA district, and within walking distance of Moscone. The cost for this “Night Out in San Francisco” event is $50. A complete list of programs and events, and registration will be available online at www.sfigf.com, after May 19.
“The summer market will be the first edition of the SFIGF under the sole management of GLM, a dmg world media business,” noted Wilson. “We look forward to putting GLM’s vast experience, expertise and resources into building on the strengths and unique features of the Fair, and continuing to bring it to new levels.”
