Lee Taitel joined Dallas Market Center as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Taitel will oversee the accounting, finance and purchasing departments and report to president and CEO Bill Winsor. Most recently, Taitel served as vice president of investment accounting for Hudson Advisors, Dallas, where he was responsible for the investment, fund and process management accounting teams.

World Market Center Las Vegas will honor Larry Laslo of Larry Laslo Designs as a Design Icon during the Summer 2008 Las Vegas Market, July 28 – Aug. 1. Laslo will discuss highlights of his life as a designer and sources of his inspiration, as well as insights into the business of design,Thursday, January 31 at 2:30 p.m. in the new Building C, on the third floor (C-136). After the lecture, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., The Robert Allen Group will honor Laslo with a reception in Robert Allen„ Beacon Hill’s new showroom, Building C-101. 

Brian Metcalf was named vice president of MOHR Access, a national retail training and consulting firm based in Ridgewood, NJ. Metcalf will work with retail organizations in customer service, talent management, leadership development, branded sales, e-learning and corporate strategy. He formerly served as senior vice president in charge of the corporate university for CCA Global Partners, Manchester, NH, a $10 billion retail cooperative. 

The Chicago Market: Living and Giving named its 2008-2009 Executive Advisory Board. The board will meet three times per year to discuss strategic issues in Chicago and the broader gift industry.
