NYIGF Updates

By Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 8/5/2008 1:12:00 PM

Accent on Design, the New York International Gift Fair's juried section of home, lifestyle and gift merchandise with a focus on high design, will showcase 17 new exhibitors from Australia, England, Italy, Japan and the United States. Among the companies are acrylic from Japan, Joey Roth from the United States, Oscar Maschera SNC from Italy and W2 Products/Whitebred + Wilkinson from the United Kingdom. Also, the show’s A+ section, which made its debut at the February fair, will again be on display and feature three new American designers.

The NYIGF is also teaming up with the Japan project, an 11-week showcase of Japanese culture and design. On Monday, August 18, there will be a reception for after-hours networking. Celebrate Design will be held at the Felissimo Design House at 10 W. 56th St. The event is free to exhibitors, attendees and press and offers a preview of the project’s first installment. Free shuttle bus service will be provided from the Jacob Javits Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. To register, contact Kristen Hamilton at (914) 421-3258 or kristen_hamilton@glmshows.com.

The New York International Gift Fair will be held August 16–21 at the Jacob Javits Center.

The Green message was delivered loud and clear across all product categories. The stationery industry is really embracing the concept and helping to move it forward. And the best thing about the new “green”? It doesn’t look it!
  • Doubletake- Stationery: Eco Totes
A subset of the eco message is the call to arms for consumers to use their own bags when shopping. Sturdy reusable shopping totes were much in evidence as an eco-fashion statement.
