L.A. Mart Appoints New Manager

Los Angeles — Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. (MMPI) named a new vice president and general manager of the L.A. Mart. Mark Furlet will oversee all operations, marketing, leasing and building support for the mart’s nearly 250 showrooms. Furlet succeeds Michael Kessler, who resigned earlier this month to pursue other career interests. Furlet formerly served as leasing director for MMPI’s The Chicago Market: Living and Giving at the Merchandise Mart. Before joining MMPI, Furlet spent nearly 20 years as a settlement manager at a Chicago law firm and spent eight years in retail management including a four-year stint at Marshall Fields.
