NY MarketCenter Hosts 9/11 Concert

New York — Showroom building The 230 Fifth Avenue New York MarketCenter will host The September Concert on Thursday, September 11. Created by Haruko Smith, director of mail-order design house Felissimo and non-profit organization Design 21, The September Concert is intended to bring communities together “to celebrate our common humanity and to reaffirm our hope for peace.”The first September Concert was held in New York on September 11, 2002. In 2007, over 200 concerts were organized with over 3,000 performers. Some 42 U.S. cities hosted concerts as well as 39 international cities, including Rome, Paris, Beijing, Tokyo, Johannesburg and Casablanca. All venues and musicians design and organize their own concerts and all music is offered to the public free of charge.
The 230 Fifth Avenue concert will take place in the building lobby from 1–3 p.m. It will include a city-wide sing-along of “Let It Be” at 2 p.m. The Sam Sadigursky Trio will perform.
