Atlanta — Birdwatch America, returning to the Georgia International Convention Center, January 9–10, 2009, will offer a host of new initiatives to help buyers maximize their time for business-building opportunities while at the backyard natures products trade show. Among the new elements are a new Friday–Saturday date pattern, extended buying hours until 7 p.m. on Friday, and a new educational format.
The show's shift from its traditional Saturday-Sunday pattern to a new Friday-Saturday schedule was made to better align with the buying schedules of retailers visiting the Atlanta marketplace in January. In addition, previously, the show's educational programming was held on Friday, the day before the show opened. In January, the show's seminar program will run over the course of the two days of the show. Buyers interested in attending any or all programs will pay a single $25 registration fee.
The scheduled programs are:
Friday, January 9:
Birdwatch America Birding Summit: Top Trends, Product Developments, Issues For Birding Retailers To Watch in 2009. 8:30 a.m. Moderator: Sharon Stitler, The Bird Chick
Going Green: The Secrets to Successful Green Retailing. 4 p.m. Speaker: Linda Taylor, owner, It's Our Nature
Saturday, January 10:
Make Your Sales Soar With A New Nest: An Online Retail Nest. 8:30 a.m. Speaker: Derek Griffin, owner, Speartek
"After listening to suggestions and feedback from both our buyers and exhibitors, we have reshaped many components of our event to create the most positive business building atmosphere here at Birdwatch America," says Tim von Gal, executive vice president, Urban Expositions. "Our objective is to make everyone's experience at Birdwatch America successful and these improvements should help accomplish that goal."
The January 2009 edition is expected to feature more than 300 booths showcasing bird feeders, bird houses, water gardening supplies, bird baths, bird seed, optics, garden décor, wildlife art, jewelry and many other birding industry items.
