White Plains, NY – The New York International Gift Fair, scheduled for January 30–February 4, will feature a series of educational seminars, as well as a Go Green Giveaway and a variety of events. The giveaway is open to retailers who attended the winter and/or summer 2009 NYIGF and who attend the winter 2010 show. In order to be a part of the contest, retailers must agree to receive an eBadge instead of the traditional print badge issued by mail. Three winners will win iPod Nanos. To quality, attendees must register or update their registrations by Friday, November 6.
In response to the high demand for natural and organic products, the EXTRACTS show, running concurrently with the NYIGF, will introduce a new exhibit floor grouping of artisanal products and producers of handcrafted soaps, cleansers and candles. “As educated consumers become more aware of how products are made, they look for organic and handmade labels. This new artisanal showcase within EXTRACTS will make it easy for discriminating shoppers to source handcrafted personal care resources,” said Melissa Engongoro, sales manager, EXTRACTS.
There will be a number of events during the fair, including a Handmade Networking Breakfast on Saturday, January 30; Gift for Life Stakes are High Casino night, Sunday, January 31, at la.Venue; A Night on Broadway Featuring Hair on Tuesday, February 2 and the 2010 Houswares Design Awards Gala & Ceremony on Wednesday, February 3. Visit www.nyigf.com for more information on these and other events.
The Licensing Gallery will make its debut during the winter market. One of the highlights of the new section is an educational seminar by The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA). “Matchmaking: Keys to Finding the Right Licensing Partner” will discuss the best practices for licensees and licensors.
