American Greetings Makes White House Christmas Cards

Brooklyn, OH – Greeting card manufacturer American Greetings made this year's holiday card for President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama. The card features a gold foil-embossed presidential seal surrounded by a wreath, and a thin burgundy border around the edges. It contains the message: "May your family have a joyous holiday season and a new year blessed with hope and happiness."American Greetings also produced the vice presidential greeting card, which bears a photo of the Biden family on the front and the vice presidential seal inside. The message reads "Wishing you and your family joy and peace this holiday season."
The cards were produced at the company's facility in Ripley, TN, and Bardstown, KY, on card stock chosen by the White House.
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the cards were paid for by the Democratic National Committee. A DNC spokesman declined to say how many cards were sent or how much they cost. The last time American Greetings produced the White House holiday cards was during the Clinton administration.
