Van Group Consolidates Lines

Staff -- Gifts & Decorative Accessories, 6/1/2001

Ontario, CA — The product lines Character Collectibles, Vanmark, Blue Sky, and Snapdragon will be consolidated with the formation of the corporate brand Van Group. Each division of Van Group will maintain separate creative teams, logos, and catalogs, as well as independent showrooms, except in Atlanta, where a single space showcases all four divisions. As a result of the merger, there will be a consolidation of marketing and sales efforts that will give customers the ability to buy deeper into and across all four divisions. "By establishing Van Group, we are putting a corporate umbrella over the four divisions, creating a power brand," said Chi Van, president of Van Group. The company will launch a corporate branding initiative with a marketing campaign encompassing advertising, direct mail, Internet, and public relations. The four divisions of Van Group — Character Collectibles, Vanmark, Blue Sky, and Snapdragon — manufacture products for the gift, collectible, tabletop, lawn and garden furniture, and home decor industries.

  • Doubletake- Stationery: Eco Totes
A subset of the eco message is the call to arms for consumers to use their own bags when shopping. Sturdy reusable shopping totes were much in evidence as an eco-fashion statement.
  • Doubletake-Stationery: Birds
Gifts & Decorative Accessories previously noted the widespread presence of peacocks & peacock-related motifs on tabletop, home décor & other gift items. In stationery, it’s not just peacocks, but birds of all feathers.
