Linda Fargo Earns Markopoulos
Chicago — Linda Fargo, vice president of visual merchandising for Bergdorf Goodman in New York, became the sixth recipient of the Markopoulos Award, the highest honor bestowed in the field of visual merchandising. Fargo has been a visual merchandiser for 18 years, and has been with Bergdorf Goodman since 1996. The award was presented at GlobalShop, the annual store design and marketing show.
Working Woman Honors Master Caster President
Cleveland — Iris Rubinfield, president of Master Manufacturing/Master Caster, was recently given the Working Woman magazine Midwest Region Entrepreneurial Excellence Award in the Original Products or Service category. Sponsored by Office Depot, AT&T, and Aetna Financial Services, the award recognizes women whose companies exemplify the hallmarks of business success. Master manufactures safety and ergonomic furniture accessories, floor protection products, and replacement casters.
Marian Heath Wins Howland
Washington, DC — The Greeting Card Association awarded Marian Heath, founder of Marian Heath Greeting Cards, the Esther Howland Award for Greeting Card Visionaries. Heath, age 94, created her first line of cards in 1941; today her company produces more than 4,000 designs. Over the years, she worked with and encouraged young artists in the greeting card industry.
