New York - George Little Management LLC (GLM) and Urban Expositions formed a partnership to produce a temporary exhibit gift show in Atlanta. Titled The Gift Fair In Atlanta, the new event will debut July 12–15, 2002, at the Georgia World Congress Center located four blocks from the permanent showroom buildings. (The show's semi-annual January and July dates will overlap those of the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.) The partnership expects to present some 600 exhibitors in 120,000 square feet of exhibit space in the 2002 show, and attract some 15,000 buyers. "Key players in the industry have encouraged us to produce a temporary market in Atlanta," said Doug Miller, president of Urban Expositions. "We're from Atlanta. We're headquartered in Atlanta. We know the Atlanta market," said Tom Fulghum, executive vice-president of Urban Expositions. Alan Steel, executive vice-president of GLM, said the new show will have "great potential for our companies in the southeast market." Urban Expositions will handle sales, marketing, and management for The Gift Fair In Atlanta; GLM will be responsible for operations, registration, and public relations. (GLM and Urban Expositions will also co-produce a gift show in Orlando, Florida. For more information, see "Show News," page 22.) As first reported in Gifts & Dec Direct
