First Collector’s Choice Awards Presented

Atlanta  — Collectible vendor trade organization Collectors' Information Bureau (CIB), Grundy Center, IA, recognized the winners of the first Collectors' Choice Awards during the July Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market. CIB executive director Linda Kruger visited the showrooms of the winners, who were determined by public vote, to notify and congratulate them between 1 and 4 p.m. on Friday, July 13. 

Honorees in the Dolls/Plush under $100 were Dolls By Berenguer Inc., for Baby Isabella Berenguer, in first place, and Herrington Teddy Bears for Chris Herrington Signature Teddy Bear, in second. In the Over $100 category, first place went to Charisma Brands for Timeless Treasure; second place went to Adora Inc. for Nupka.

Figurines/Sculptures was divided into three price categories. Demdaco took first place in the under $30 range for Willow Tree, Child of My Heart, while Fitz & Floyd came second with You Give Me a Warm Feeling. In the $31–$100 range, Royal Doulton came in first with Steamboat Willie and second place went to The Trail of Painted Ponies for Year of the Horse. Over $100, Prizm Inc. won first place for Christmas Wanderers and Crystal World won second for Steppin' Out.

In Home Decor/Gift, first place under $30 went to Enesco LLC for Heartwood Creek, Bride, and second to Westland Giftware Inc. for Mwah. In the $31–$100 category, first place recognized G. DeBrekht Artistic Studios for Motherly Love and second, Goebel, for Marigolds. Over $100, first place was Fenton Art Glass, for Cherry Blossoms on Indigo Blue. Elisa USA’s Sea Dreams came in second.

Finally, first place in ornaments under $30 went to Ne'Qwa Art  for Christmas Cats; second was Rhyn-Rivet’s Kelsea's Song. In ornaments retailing for $31–$100, Hallmark Cards Inc.’s Letters to Santa came in first, and The ChemArt Company/Baldwin’s Festival Snowflake, second. And in ornaments over $100, first place honored Sarabella Creations for Holy Night, while second recognized Inge-Glas of Germany’s Annual Ornament Series, 2001–2006.
