A New York Moment
July 17, 2007

New York is a great place. When you are walking around town, so much goes on here, you never know what is going to happen, or who you will see or meet. They shoot movies and TV shows here; photo shoots for print ads take to the streets; and celebrities live here and go about their business, just like everyone else. I usually don’t recognize celebrities, and don’t have the patience, or more often the time, to stand around waiting for something to happen on a movie or TV location. But this morning on my way to work, I actually encountered a photo shoot happening right near the office and actually recognized the celebrities! The celebrities are Joe Torre, manager of the New York Yankees, and Phil Simms, former quarterback for the New York Giants who is now a sportscaster. Even more surprising? I didn’t used to be a sports fan and don’t really consider myself one now even though I do follow some in order to converse with some of my family and friends. That’s how I was able to recognize the gentlemen.P.S. I was caught without camera and had to run to the office to get it, praying all the way that they would still be there when I returned! Obviously, they were.
