You're Not Alone

January 16, 2009

Now there’s proof: The Customer is Always Wrong: The Retail Chronicles features true tales of The Customer is Always Wrong from Soft Skull Presswriters who’ve done time behind the cash/wrap. With a blurb by Barneys creative director Simon Doonan, it has to be good. Give it to employees as a holiday gift so you’ll know you feel their pain; mine it for cautionary tales, or just have a good laugh. With an edgy enough customer base, you might even retail it… with a POP sign that says “present company excepted.” There’s even one anecdote about a gift store – Anita Liberty’s “No Good Deed” is about her mishaps shop-sitting for the West Hollywood-based gift boutique Zipper while the owners attended a tradeshow in San Francisco. $12.95. Edited by Jeff Martin, published by Softskull Press.
