• Pam Danziger, the prolific doyenne of research firm Unity Marketing, published no less than three books on our business: Shopping, Why We Love It and How Retailers Can Create the Ultimate Customer Experience; Let Them Eat Cake, Marketing Luxury to the Masses — As Well As the Classes; and Why People Buy Things They Don’t Need.
• For the vendor side of the industry, Molly Miller-Davidson, who sat on the jury for Accent on Design at the San Francisco International Gift Fair for seven years, penned Launch It! How to Turn Good Ideas Into Great Products That Sell with Joanne Stone-Geier and Michael B. Levinson.
• For hands-on store situations, Mary Liz Curtin, winner of Gifts & Dec’s Retailer Excellence Award, wrote A Shopkeeper’s Manual.
And for entrepreneurs in the gift business or any other, longtime gift public relations specialist Millie Szerman wrote A View From the Tub: An Inspiring and Practical Guide to Working from Home.
