Bathroom Update
My bathroom is nearly finished. All that is left is a final inspection by the city and some cosmetic detailing. I am thrilled! After all the years of living with a bathroom decor that I hated, I finally take pleasure in going into this small room. Partly my feelings are attributable to a feeling of accomplishment, that of seeing my vision come to life. Having the bathroom that I envisioned and wanted is forcing me to make some small adjustments. I gave up the extra surface area that I had with the previous vanity for the sink that I chose. The vanity took up too much room and made the space seem even smaller than it is. The new sink opens up the space and makes the room seem much more spacious; it is also more in keeping with the period of the house without being "period." I still have some accessorizing to do as well — new towels, window treatment and a storage box or two, so that things such as my hair dryer can be stowed away but still be accessible. I am also still trying to decide whether to paint the upper walls a color or leave them white. I have time and will live with things as they are for a while before deciding — although I am thinking, "Leave them white!" If I leave them white, then I will have to decide what, if any, artwork to put in there. These are dilemmas that I can live with and take pleasure in. "Oh the horror of having to go shopping!" she said with feigned displeasure. Here for your viewing pleasure, I share … my new bathroom!
